Capturing life at any stage is beautiful. And important.
Often, clients call me when they’re getting married or having a baby, but few call me when Mom has flown in for a weekend with her adult kids – I wish it was a regular occurrence.
Danielle, the eldest, has lived in Vancouver for a while. She’s made a life here as a digital strategist and storyteller. Her younger sister recently followed from Toronto; and studying Computer Science at UBC keeps her busy. Both have found space in the same building in Coal Harbour that has allowed them to stay connected in the growing city.
On this particular week, Mom turned her miles in for a flight across the country. She had left Dad back east, so she could enjoy a Leroux Ladies-Only weekend.
It was Danielle’s idea to do this Stanley Park Portrait Session at sunset. It is one of her favourites locales.
Walking around the park with these beautiful ladies briefly reminded me of moments with my Mom before she passed. Because of those memories, I found it all that more touching to capture them laughing and enjoying the gorgeous surroundings.
Lucky for me their happiness was infectious.
