How To Start Your Day ON Purpose
Do you ever wish you could conjure up more time with the snap of your fingers? If so, keep reading.
It’s actually as simple as being intentional with your custom and juicy morning routine. Be warned, simple doesn’t mean easy and forming new habits requires some game. The best part is, the simpler you make your morning routine, the more effective and ju ju producing it will be.

Why It Matters
You aren’t here for ‘just ok’. Your life needs to reflect your dreams and desires. If you struggle with time management, working ON your business, self care, inner joy, sleep, focus, or clarity, start implementing a morning routine.

Personally, I re-ignited mine last Fall and have yet to lose my patience with my kids in the morning school run. (Good moms use bad words people!!) I set my alarm religiously to carve out space for meditation, gratitude and moving my body. Don’t take my word for it, there’s more studies and research on the power of starting your day with intention than Reels dropping on the daily.

According to Northwestern Medicine, having a morning routine can greatly improve your health and if it includes exercise, you will be increasing your focus & productivity too.

I have a morning routine to start my work day that shifts me into an even higher energetic state. Mindset is everything and you want to intentionally infuse each thought, conversation, decision and action intentionally.
Three Tips to Start Your Workday ON Purpose
- Do NOT check your email until after your morning routine.
- Include a block of what I like to call ‘CEO time’ as part of your workday morning routine, starting with as little as one action; think sending an email or following up.
- Write down your priorities for your day before you begin the day, or better yet, do it the night before.

Three Tips to Start Your Morning ON Purpose
- Decide ahead of time what you will do in the morning.
- Practice some form of appreciation or gratitude, perhaps an affirmation practice or journaling or even prayer if that is part of your belief system. I am loyal to my Five Minute Journal and recommend it to many of my clients.
- Move your body each morning to get your juices flowing. Combining some affirmations while gazing in the mirror and moving your body is a powerful combo that ticks all the boxes in one.
If this is new for you, start small and keep it doable.

Keep Your Morning Routine Simple
A client who was juggling a full-time job, a booming side-hustle and a young family felt she had no time to add anything to her morning routine. Remembering she adored her coffee, we turned it into a practice of presence and gratitude, from inhaling the fragrance of the freshly ground beans, to savouring each sip, as she took in the view from her kitchen window.

For months, she would eagerly share how this small shift in her morning routine transformed her life.
Being intentional with the start of your day is simple, effective and transformative. How can you start your day and up-level your energy?
