Aside from shooting my own weddings I try and fit in second shooting when possible, and have been lucky to worth and develop a friendship with the talented Dana Fisher . Last summer I shot 3 weddings with Dana and all will be forever memorable but this one will go down in history!
As per usual when I second shoot I started off with the groom and his groomsmen. Sean, the groom, was calm and collected, surrounded by his buddies and his son. I had to put out a mini fire as a last minute shave left a few blood drops on the neck of Sean’s shirt, but have no fear, mama Michele was there to help get that out! After that little stress we headed to Granville Island to do the first look!
Sara looked gorgeous and these two were so smiley and gigglely, my kind of people! After the first look during their portrait session the epic memorable moment happened…a bird decided to take a poop on Sara, but not just a little poop! It was the biggest bird explosion I have ever seen! Many brides might have lost their minds but Sara kept calm and in fact burst out into uncontrobllable laughter, I mean what are you going to do? Again I put my mama hat on and told them I would go get something to clean this poop up! Off I ran to the Granville Island Hotel which is where their reception was going to be, and grabbed a huge stack of hand towels and soda water and we all began cleaning, and it worked! Sean helped Dana and I clean Sara up while she kept her self in giggly good spirits! We wandered around Granville Island doing their bridal portraits, and had our bird poop radar turned on high!
Their wedding ceremony took place at the iconic Arthur Erickson Waterfall Building, which was a lovely and unique venue. After that we headed back to Granville Island for their reception which was filled with heartfelt speeches, amazing food and lots of dancing!
