I was excited to shoot Sarah and Matt’s engagement at beautiful Stanley Park at the spot where Matt proposed, Brockton Point Lighthouse where we thought it would be the perfect place to go back and re-create some magic for the engagement session!
These two lovebirds have known each other since high school, and I just love how fun and easygoing they are. With Matt working towards getting into the RCMP, we had wanted to make sure to get the engagement photos done before he was sent to Depot, and we sure lucked out with the great weather on this day. Stanley Park is such a huge, amazing park with so many great spots to shoot. I just love all the different backdrops…the lighthouse, the ocean, the park! There was even a family of raccoons who popped in to say hello. 🙂
The beautiful flowers in Sarah’s bouquet were provided by a new local flower farm called Blooming Meadows. I absolutely love their work – check out that amazing living succulent bracelet that she is sporting on her left wrist! I have never seen anything quite like it. They are a florist to watch out for!
Being a photographer, I am fortunate enough to capture lots of different types of weddings and events. Because of that, I can honestly say I really admire how creative Sarah has been with her wedding planning, with lots of her own unique ideas as well as getting some creative insight from bridal magazines. Their vision for the wedding is a romantic, garden-party type feel, and it will be held in July 2017 at Matt’s uncle’s picturesque property in Aldergrove. I cannot wait to shoot there, as it sounds so lovely and charming.Through talking we discovered we have a mutual love for Rocky Mountain Bride Magazine, where I happen to be a Gem Vendor. Will be a super fun bonus if we could get the wedding published there, fingers crossed! Matt and Sarah are also one of my first clients to book me from Wedding Wire which is pretty exciting 🙂
I’m so thankful to that these two awesome fun loving people have chosen me to capture their special day next summer. I can’t wait to see their hard work and planning come to light, and be able to celebrate in front of all of their friends and loved ones with me in the background documenting it all 🙂
